HOME FOR MENTALLY ILL

The Fraternal Life Service Home (FLSH) was established in the year 1983 initially with 10 mentally ill patients who were picked up from the streets. FLSH has been designed as a transit home where people with mental illness are admitted, given treatment and sent back to their home once they become normal.

FLSH is the only home available within districts of Pondicherry & Karaikal, Cuddalore and Villupuram Districts of Tamil Nadu for the rehabilitation of the mentally ill. The home continuously provide medical care, love and concern to more than 1500 mentally ill persons from the year 1983, irrespective of caste and creed with the support from Government, local sponsors and International donors.

COVID-19 Relief Response

Pondicherry Multipurpose Social Service Society and the Program Supporter Tamil Nadu Disabled Welfare Department has sponsored for COVID-19 Relief Response Assistance jointly distributed the nutritional special food kit for the Fraternal Life Service Home (FLSH) inmates during this crisis lockdown situation today 04/06/2020 at FLSH (Unit of PMSSS), Ousteri.

This support is one of the Welfare activities of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu towards the differently abled people. The Commissioner of Disabled Welfare Department of chennai gave this to Villupuram DDRO. This Aavin special food products were distributed to the inmates of Fraternal Life Serive Home on 4th June 2020. Mr. Kumar DDRO, Villupuram facilitated this program. With the blessings of most Rev. Dr. Antony Anandarayar, Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore and the president of PMSSS. Rev. Fr. R. Pascal Raj, Principal, Petit Seminaire Hr.Sec School was the special guest. Rev. Fr.C.Joseph Arumaiselvam Executive Director of PMSSS and Mrs. Bridget Selvaraj Admin cum Finance Manager of PMSSS were participated in this program.

From the beginning of Covid-19 epidemic, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has been providing various welfare and special food items, especially to the Persons with disabilities. Our Fraternal Life Service Home inmates 36 persons were provided Aavin Special food items and gave awareness on social distance, health and hygiene system.

FRATERNAL LIFE SERVICE HOME, OUSTERI

Fraternal Life Service Home is a unit of Pondicherry Multipurpose Social Service Society (PMSSS). Presently 35 inmates are staying in our home. We are regularly giving medicines, counselling, meditation and recreation activities to inmates. Our PMSSS Executive Director regularly visits the Fraternal Life Service Home and spent time with the inmates and conduct review meeting with the staffs and planned for their regular activities.

On 23rd May 2020, a volunteer from pondicherry contributed food for the inmates of home in remembrance of their family function. The volunteer and their family members were happy and interacted with our inmates and showed a lot of enthusiasm and did all the arrangements. Our Executive Director supported this event. We thank the volunteer for their generous support.

FRATERNAL LIFE SERVICE HOME PONGAL CELEBRATION BY SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE MR. JAYAKUMAR, VILLUPURAM DISTRI

On 16th of January, 2019, Villupuram District Superintendent of Police, Mr. Jayakumar, Deputy Chief Inspector Mr. Muthumanikam, Mr. Ajay Thangam, Researchers and Assistant Researchers visited and distributed the pongal dresses and sweets to the mentally-ill patients in our Fraternal Life Service Home (FLSH) a unit of PMSSS (Pondicherry Multipurpose Social Service Society). There were about 45 persons and the Home Manager Mr. Victor Solomon and staff team were enhanced by the visit of the Police Department Friendly approach.

CBR MAINSTREAMING PROJECT EVALUATION MEETING REPORT

CBR MAINSTREAMING PROJECT EVALUATION MEETING REPORT CBR Mainstreaming Program (CBR-MS) is carried out for the last 7 years through Pondicherry Multipurpose Social Service Society (PMSSS) which is funded by Collective action for Basic Rights Foundation CBRF Bangalore. On 22nd January 2019 Tuesday, as a mandatory, the CBR Mainstreaming Project Evaluation held with Person with Disability Federation leaders at PMSSS Conference Hall. CBR-MS Program Officer Mr. Selvaraj welcomed all who attended the meeting and explained about the purpose of the gathering. PMSSS, Executive Director Rev.Fr. C. Joseph Arumaiselvam gave introductory note to the participants and started the meeting with his blessings. PMSSS Finance cum Admin Officer Mrs. S. Bridget participated this meeting. Collective action for Basic Rights Foundation (CBR Forum) resource person Mr. Stephen conducted the review and evaluation meeting by interacting with Disable People Organization (DPO) leaders. They were able to share the experiences and the pro activities carried out by them for the last 7 years towards empowering the Person with Disabilities (PwDs). In this meeting 35 Persons with Disability Federation leaders actively participated and shared about the changes taken place and also discussed about their future plan for the next few years. The Assistant Program Organizers Mrs. M. Vanaja and Mrs. P. Soodamani had coordinated the meeting.
